Mark Needham graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture with a concentration in Fine Arts in 1973 from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville . He has worked in a number of media including photography, illustration, printmaking, and metalworking. He has received a number of awards in design excellence. His work is in such collections as Brown & Williamson in Louisville, Kentucky and the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In my work, I have try to meld or juxtapose the geometries, colors, and textures of machined metals with the geometries, colors and textures of natural minerals to create sculpture to wear. They are bold in size, unexpected in shape, and unique in features.
